Children's Ministry
Our children's ministry is a place where children and families come together with the entire church family to celebrate God's grace, to grow in the joy that comes from being in relationship with each other and with God, and to serve each other and the world around us in the name of Jesus Christ. We believe that parents are the most influential people in the spiritual development of their children, and we are privileged to join and assist families in that responsibility.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 shapes how we think about this: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.” We love helping children learn how their story connects with God's story!
Our children's ministry includes age-appropriate Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and a special children’s “PrayGround” to our sanctuary. This is a special area right up front with a child sized table and chairs, floor pillows, and worship aids. Children ages three and older (and their families, if they wish to join them) are invited to join a worship host in the PrayGround, where they will participate fully in worship, in ways that are child-friendly. During the sermon, they will work on “pew projects” that will relate to the sermon theme and will help them focus.
During the year, we have many activities to build relationships and enjoy learning about God – an Advent party, a Fall Festival, Family Movie Nights, Kids Academy, and much more.
