Missions
Christ's love for us compels us to share that love with others. At CABC, we want every member to be a minister. We want to help you match your talents and passions with someone's needs. Along with many opportunities for service within our church, we support missionaries in our community and around the world. Ongoing mission projects include partnerships with Keystone Community Center, the Rescue Mission, and Feeding Southwest Virginia Food Bank. Each summer, we take an intergenerational mission trip, leading Vacation Bible School, doing home repairs, and attempting to meet the needs shared with us.
This summer, we will join with three other local churches for our intergenerational mission week, July 17-22. We will be helping to prepare a home for a refugee family, providing meals for those who are working on the home, and serving in other local ministries, such as the Rescue Mission and Feeding America. During the last part of the week, we will be going to Danville to serve with and learn from Grace and Main, an intentional community there.

What We Believe About Missions
As a sign of God's love for us, we commit to reaching out to those in difficult circumstances with love and compassion, helping to meet their physical and spiritual needs. By helping others, whether or not they are a part of our community of faith, we show to the world the actions of a loving Christ.
If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 1 John 3:17-18
